Learning how to pick locks.

First, learning how to pick locks is for entertainment purposes only. It’s so entertaining that an entire sport has cropped up to support the learning and skill development of lock picking enthusiasts. If you’re new to the sport, you might find it beneficial to watch Youtube videos from content creators like Lock Picking Lawyer https://www.youtube.com/@lockpickinglawyer.

You can pick up pretty good lock picking kits from Covert Instruments (no affiliation with Covert U.) at https://covertinstruments.com/?srsltid=AU7gw4XuoR5fEavY0kzJ2P81lIWXOwAfw0bfD7BpxmKqlLODMlLOZ6Re

Locksport: A Hackers Guide to Lockpicking, Impressioning, and Safe Cracking. Is a pretty useful and easy to follow introduction into the world of locksport and lock picking in general.

We do recommend taking an in person course. But unless you’re military or law enforcement, gaining access to a high quality, instructor-led course may be challenging. Can you learn everything you need to learn through Youtube and books? Yes.
